The Working Group on “Connection to Electricity Supply Networks” held a meeting

The next meeting of the Working Group on connection to power supply networks of the Commission on Business Environment and International Rankings was held. The representatives from the Ministries of Energy, Economy, Digital Development and Transport, Internal Affairs, State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture, Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency, Azerishig OJSC, Small and Medium Business Development Agency and Azerbaijan Energy Regulatory Agency participated at the meeting.

The Head of the Working Group, Deputy Minister of Energy Samir Valiyev, emphasized the importance of implementing the agenda items in the most optimal manner.

The Head of the Secretariat of the Commission, Vusal Shikhaliyev, spoke about the positive results achieved under the “Utilities (Electricity)” indicator in the 2025 edition of the World Bank’s “Business Ready” report. It was noted that among 101 countries assessed, Azerbaijan ranked 25th with a score of 83.05 under the relevant indicator, placing second among CIS countries, just behind Kazakhstan with a small margin.

The Deputy Head of the Working Group and First Deputy Chairman of “Azərişıq” OJSC, Ramil Yusifov, presented the work carried out within the framework of the implementation of measures envisaged for the first quarter of the current year under the 2026 Roadmap on improvements and communication related to the “Utilities (Electricity)” indicator of the World Bank’s “Business Ready” report.

At the end of the meeting, it was decided to take appropriate steps to strengthen coordination among the state institutions represented in the Working Group in order to achieve all targets set for the current year.
